The Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel is an engineering wonder that stretches 17.6 miles over and under the Chesapeake Bay. Due to its location, this facility is exposed to some of the harshest marine and weather conditions. As a result of unforeseen weather conditions, this facility will occasionally have to restrict certain traffic for safety reasons. We understand that this can be an inconvenience for travelers; however, we implement these levels of restrictions for the safety of all of our customers.
