Sea Gull Island
Sea
Gull Island is located on the southernmost of the Bridge-Tunnel's four manmade
islands, 3-1/2 miles from Virginia Beach. This island currently provides the
traveling public an opportunity to stop, stretch their legs, cast a
line, birdwatch, or just take in the natural beauty and sounds of the Chesapeake
Bay. An interpretive display of the construction of the Bridge-Tunnel is located
just outside the Restaurant/Gift Shop.

Will Re-Open in the Summer of 2010The Restaurant
and Gift Shop are currently CLOSED for renovations. We
apologize for any inconvenience to the traveling public, but we
anticipate re-opening in the Summer of 2010.
Fishing Pier Cast
your line from the free 625-foot fishing pier where bluefish, trout,
croaker, flounder, shark, and other species of fish are caught. There is a certified fish weighing station available and photos of your
catch are provided to the angler and displayed in our photo box.

Scenic View
Observe
Navy and commercial ocean-going ships glide gracefully through one
of the world's busiest shipping channels through coin-operated viewing
machines. Check out our Shipwatcher's Guide which describes the major
types of Naval Ships currently based in Hampton Roads.
A Bridge to Naval History
Take a walk through Naval history as a series of outdoor exhibits
sponsored by the Hampton Roads Naval Museum highlight the history of
the Navy on the Chesapeake Bay. For more information on the

Scenic
Overlook/Rest Area
If
you are a camera buff and are looking for that perfect vantage point to
photograph the Bridge-Tunnel be sure to stop at our new Scenic Overlook where
viewing machines are located. The overlook is located on the west side of the
roadway at the southern tip of Virginia's Eastern Shore and provides a parking
area to accommodate cars, recreational vehicles and buses. In addition to the
scenic overlook, the rest area located on the north end of the Bridge-Tunnel
provides our customers with restroom facilities, telephones, and vending
machines.
