The Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel implemented toll rate changes on January 1, 2014. It is important to note that effective January 1, 2014, all discounts offered by the CBBT will be for E-ZPass customers only.

Peak Season Pricing will become effective on the CBBT Fridays thru Sundays, beginning Friday, May 16, 2014.** Peak season for 2014 is defined as every Friday, beginning at 12:00 a.m., thru Sunday at 11:59 p.m., during the period of May 16 thru September 14. Off-Peak Season is all other times. See the toll schedule below for all current toll rates and discounts on the CBBT.

MEDICAL TOLL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM


Since 2003, through a cooperative partnership between the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel (CBBT) and Eastern Shore Rural Health Systems, Inc. (ESRHS), a medical toll assistance program provides assistance to members of the community for medical services that cannot be obtained on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

EDUCATIONAL TOLL FUND

Implemented in July 2010, this Educational Toll Fund is a cooperative partnership between the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel (CBBT), the Eastern Shore Community College (ESCC) and Eastern Shore Rural Health Systems, Inc. (ESRHS). The program is administered by Eastern Shore Rural Health Systems, Inc. and is designed to assist students commuting across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel for the purpose of furthering their post-secondary education.

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel began accepting E-ZPass in November of 2007. E-ZPass On-The-Go Transponders are now available for purchase at the:

  • CBBT's Administration Office located at 32386 Lankford Highway, Cape Charles, VA, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or the
  • Satellite Office location at the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce located at 19056 Parkway Road, Melfa, VA, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

While all lanes are equipped to accept E-ZPass, the far left lanes, both northbound and southbound, are dedicated as E-ZPass lanes only for cars and pickup trucks.  ALL LANES ARE GATED AND CUSTOMERS MUST SLOW DOWN TO A MINIMAL SPEED BEFORE PASSING THROUGH THE TOLL LANES.  For more information on the importance of these gated lanes at the CBBT, please click here
