It is important that you mount your E-ZPass transponder according to these instructions in order for it to work consistently. Failure to do so will result in incorrect toll charges, delays or violation fees.

Transponder Mounting

Identify the front face of the transponder, which displays the E-ZPass logo and two upward arrows. This faces the driver with the arrows pointing towards the roof of the vehicle.

Transponder Mounting

With the arrows pointing towards the roof, align the transponder on the INSIDE surface of the windshield behind the rear-view mirror at least one inch below the metal roof-line and one inch to the right of the mirror post. Once the mounting position is determined, clean the inside surface of the windshield.

Transponder Mounting

If there is insufficient room, the alternate location shown here must be used and the transponder should be mounted behind the rearview mirror, towards the right.  Once the mounting position is determined, clean the inside surface of the windshield.

Transponder Mounting

Carefully remove the plastic backing tape from the Dual Lock™ mounting strips and firmly press the transponder against the glass for 15 seconds.

Transponder Mounting

FOR TRACTOR TRAILERS: Adhere the transponder inside the vehicle to the lower center of the windshield. This should be approximately 4-5 inches to the right of the windshield center post (if the windshield is divided) and about one inch from the bottom of the windshield.

DO NOT:
Hold your transponder out the window.
Hold your transponder up to the front of the windshield
Lay your transponder on the dash of the car, in your lap, or in the passenger seat.

WARNING!
Failure to mount the transponder, or incorrect placement, may result in the device failing to read, which can result in a toll violation!
